JI chief discusses situation with Nisar
LAHORE, Dec. 15: #Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Sirajul Haq, met the Federal Interior Minister. Ch. Nisar Ali Khan, in Islamabad on Monday and discussed with him the political crisis in the country and the situation arising out of that.
Speaking on the occasion, the JI chief welcomed the resumption of talks between the government and the PTI and said the two sides had displayed political maturity by agreeing to hold talks. He expressed the hope that the two sides would resolve issues at the negotiating table instead of on roads.
#Sirajul Haq stressed that the electoral system must be reformed in a manner that nobody could rig the elections even if he so desired. At the same time, he said the supremacy of the constitution should be ensured, the independence of the judiciary must be safeguarded and nobody should be above the law, whosoever he be.
The JI chief drew the attention of the Interior Minister to the miserable plight of the Pakistani immigrants stuck up in Saudi Arabia due to lack of necessary documents. He urged the Interior Minister to make necessary arrangements for the prompt release of the Pakistanis in Saudi prisons and for their repatriation. He said that the cases of the jailed immigrants were being heard and they were being given opportunity for their defense. He said that hundreds of immigrants had fallen sick and badly needed medical help.
Later, former Federal Minister and PPP Senator Rehman Malik also called on the JI chief in Islamabad. The two leaders appreciated the resumption of talks between the government and the PTI and stressed that the two sides should resolve all irritants through dialogue. They also called for expediting the talks process and making these fruitful. #islamipakistan
