Peshawar, May 23: Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the plight of the
man in the street could not be improved without ousting the forces of the status quo from power. He was talking to different delegations at Al-Markaz Islami, Peshawar on Saturday.
Sirajul Haq said that the corrupt elite were holding all state institutions as also the country’s resources as hostages which had made the masses’ life miserable. Thousands of workers had been rendered jobless because of load shedding of electricity and gas but the rulers remained totally unconcerned.
The JI chief said that the parties ruling the country for decades had simply prolonged their rule and paid little attention to the problems of the people. The ruling elite had amassed heaps of wealth for their coming generations without caring for their voters. While the world had reached the moon, Pakistan, despite having vast resources, was still groping in the dark due to energy crisis and low literacy rate.
Sirajul Haq said the JI was fighting for the rights of the common man and the masses should stand by the Jamaat in this struggle, and ensure the success of the JI candidates in the Local Bodies elections. He said that scores of the JI candidates had already been declared victorious unopposed.
